FELLOW COLLECTORS:

PART ONE

My husband and myself collected a thousand contemporary paintings from around the world.

Unfortunately, that unique collection was lost by a blow of fate! Luckily we also produced an artist son. But the roller coaster continued. Finally, he is now in ill health. And as there are many wonderful people around, with even angels among them (For which I thank god every day). There are always those who seem to see people more as guinea pigs rather than human beings.

The president of the most prominent center for alternative medicine in the U.S. – a true doctor in every sense of the word, who stole my heart at an hour of need by taking my second son’s phone call personally – and graciously took the time to speak with him for one whole hour, on Christmas Eve, and at 8 P.M., reassured me that a responsible and thorough holistic treatment will put him back on the right track. This is one possibility. I keep searching for more.

As a mother, and as I have no personal means immediately available to me, I am offering his own work for sale to you fellow collectors around the world. Please take a tour of his website (www.gh-hormozi.com) and let me know if you like any of the paintings.

Here are two of the reviews written about his work:

“After two months of careful evaluation, we have no doubts that in color he has arrived at the level of a master.” – Ravi Paranjape, The Ravi Paranjape Art Foundation, India

“I thank you again for having communicated to me the photographs of your paintings, which I find original and inventive.” – The Brute Art Collection of Lausanne, Switzerland

Also, if you may want to consider a long term relationship, introducing his work in the right way to the higher echelons of the art world. You are welcome to send over a representative to see all the works from up close. He has over 300 paintings.

The money raised through these efforts will go into a fund raising account, which can only be spent toward the treatment of his illness until he is well enough.

I thank you kindly and humbly, as I wish you good health and continued resourcefulness.

Sincerely,

Pari Hormozi

In 1978, our first exposition was inaugurated by Prince Henrik of Denmark in Copenhagen, showing 250 paintings from the collection. Followed by an exposition in the Town Hall of Copenhagen arranged by the mayor and fully funded by the city. Also in 1986, we managed to publish a Self Help book many have found ahead of it’s time by the title, “What Is It?” – using images from our old & lost collection (“Promoting a better world”, by Philip H. Dougherty – The New York Times, November, 24, 1986). Presently used copies of that book are being sold on the Internet from $3.00 to $100.

In 1970, my late husband, Farhad Hormozi first offered the world his vision of a better world through an advertising campaign in the New York Times and the New York Daily News (“Lock means key” – March, 1, 1970). And at 1974, he became the World I.A.A. Vice President. As well as the last of three people to receive, “The Coveted International Public Service Advertising Campaign Award”, from The International Advertising Association, during the eighty-year history of the association (Raising 1 million dollars for the ‘Hungers of Africa Campaign’).

All during which, I served as his senior advisor and first assistant.

FELLOW COLLECTORS:

Now only an 80 year old mother, I had in mind to send you the above personal letter that suddenly the course of events changed. And at first things even got out of hand a bit, so I had to reconsider the whole thing. However, it didn’t take long before everything became crystal clear again.

I realized that if the essence is right, it shouldn’t make any difference if it is concerning my artist son, or your artist daughter, or anybody else’s. And if so, there must exist here a larger something. A larger something not necessarily neglected or overlooked, just trampled on and rusted out of sight, maybe. Though something that may need our immediate attention.

This is how it became an open letter. . .

And at the same time, this is how I became a guest of honor on my own son’s website:

My attention was suddenly attracted to the many people in the world who believe that a guest is a god sent, and rejoice at the sight of one dropping in.

So many credible, out of sight websites, I thought!

So many credible, out of spotlight guests of honor, I thought!

Oh my god, I thought!

Then I started to make the preparations. And in doing so, no effort is being spared to make suret hat the message reaches you in the simplest, most transparent form possible for me while faithfully covering the subject as well.

 PREVIEW OF PART TWO

AN AGE OLD TRUTH IN A NEW LIGHT*: THE PRICELESS POTENTIAL OF THE VAST NOMBER OF TRUE ARTISTS WHO ARE GENERALLY IN SERIOUS DISTRESS, OR ILL HEALTH – TRAMPLED ON BY THE ALL TOO FAMILIAR RUSH AND ROAR OF MARKETING AND EXCESS VAGUENESS, RUSTED OUT OF SIGHT RIGHT IN THE HEART OF THE ART WORLD – NEEDING IMMEDIATE ATTENTION FROM YOU FELLOW COLLECTORS, AND OF COURSE EVENTUALLY FROM EVERYONE IN THE ART WORLD.

Fellow collectors, my personal experience with my own son made me fully comprehend an age old truth, and I took it upon myself to share with you what I have witnessed in this new light that I can see now.

In the dark of a world economic crisis that has dried up the paint brushes of many true artists who are in perfect health and have no financial difficulties, my artist son is painting 6 to 8 hours a day. Every day! And with high hopes of finally bearing the fruit of his life, the secret longing of any true artist – The lifetime masterpiece (I.I.T.E.O.T.A.).

Ever since, for me and in my family, for my other children as well, it’s been he who has become the source of all encouragement – as I have a feeling he would for everyone else who comes close enough as well…………….. And by god, it’s not a crime. And it’s no crime, so help me god!

*. . . “And way past the broad daylight of the final hour. . . After the heart, the soul and mind have stood watch through the long hours of the hopeless night. . . After the eyes have stayed open into the dark for long enough. . . When the punctuality cockerel always knows how fast truth time, true time runs out, and calls it out hastily before clearing his throat. . . In the dimmest of all lights, in the dim, sobering, rewarding, breaking light of the un-false dawn. . . When true seekers realize they have risen above. . . When by pure grace, mothers’ tears begin to dry.”.

When Antoine Saint-Exupery prayed to be taught, “the art of small steps. . .”.

(Coming soon)

Artists, senior mentors, museums, foundations, critics, curators, fares, galleries, dealers, everyone in the art world, thank you for being patient with me. In the meantime, sponsorship for the development and the proper maintenance of the page is welcomed.
